MUD

MUD is an acronym for Multi-User Dungeon. A MUD is a multiplayer computer game that combines elements of role-playing games, dungeon crawl computer games, and chat rooms. Initially played on bulletin board systems, most MUDs are now played on an Internet server. Games are usually text-based, not graphical. Players type commands and in turn get written descriptions.
